With gameweek 38 now complete and mini-leagues finally settled, we have decided to release this short article to thank some very important people, and also to let you know what’s going to be happening round here over the next few weeks.  Before all of that though, let us tie up a very important loose end by revealing how the official Fantasy Football Cheat team finished the season.

Our Fantasy Team

Gameweek 38 turned out to be a pretty decent week for our team.  We set ourselves the target of finishing the season in the top 20,000 teams in the world, and we achieved our objective (just!).  Our standout performer was Man City hero, and our gameweek 38 Captain, Sergio Aguero who delivered the goods with 8 fantasy points doubled to 16.  Elsewhere we were also pleased to see strong performances from Rooney, Pienaar, Valencia and Caulker who all delivered us valuable fantasy points in this crucial gameweek.

Our only disappointment in gameweek 38 was to see Jonny Evans in United’s starting 11 for the game against Sunderland.  Like many other fantasy manager’s we benched Evans under the impression he was injured.  Under all the pressure, it must have slipped Sir Alex’s mind in the pre-match press conference to mention the return to fitness of Evans!  With Evan’s stuck on our bench, we have to say that watching him keep a clean sheet and take 8 fantasy points from gameweek 38 really hurt.  Once again, another lesson learned for next season, with the lesson being to always doubt the injury news, and question the updates provided by the Premier League managers.  We’re not saying they’re liars, but every now and again they do seem to get either a little bit forgetful or uncharacteristically confused when it comes to accurately reporting injury updates!  Ok. Whinge over, but I do feel better for getting it off my chest!

Our final score last week was a very satisfying 57 points, which was a pleasing 15 points above the average across the fantasy premier league as a whole. It was enough to see us make one final surge up the main fantasy premier league table, and we have now finished the season in position 19,851.

Over the last 4 seasons, our record now stands as follows:

Our average finishing position over the 4 seasons is position 18,790.  We are pretty proud of that, and are very much looking forward to next season when we will try and beat our average and secure our third top 10,000 finish of our career.

A Message For Our Editorial Team

Over the last few days there have been loads of posts on our message boards from fantasy managers that have had superb seasons thanks to the advice on this site.  It is hearing those success stories which makes running this site feel so worthwhile, but as you all know this is by no means a one man band.  In fact, this site would be nothing without the immense efforts and contributions from our editorial team. I would therefore like to extend a huge thank you to the team of experienced fantasy managers that have all made time this year to provide invaluable articles for the site.  Special thanks go to Mutley, Sharpie, Kop Warrior, Archivist, Flip, Ned, Migs, Cookie, S&S, Facer, Harry, Rob and Farid who have all published articles during the course of the season.

I would also like to thank everyone who has kindly given up their time for interviews with us this year.  We have interviewed some great fantasy managers, so special thanks to everyone who has taken part.

The FFC Community

I would like to finish off the thank you’s by thanking everyone who comes on to our message boards and makes this place such a special community.  Fantasy Football Cheat has become a hot bed of activity as fantasy managers from all over the world exchange thoughts, ideas and suggestions 24 hours a day.  Whilst that in itself is pretty cool, what makes it absolutely fantastic is that it is done in such a fun and friendly manner.  This is largely due to a great group of amazing regulars (you know who you are), and for that I am exceptionally grateful.  Thank you.

Our Plans Going Forwards

If you’ve enjoyed this season, then strap on for the ride, as next season it is only going to get bigger and better.  To do that, me & the team need to spend some time planning, brain-storming, organising, building etc to make sure we have everything in place ready for the build up to gameweek 1 of next season.  We will not therefore be providing loads of articles over the summer break.  Instead we will be busy behind the scenes improving the site and preparing to re-appear a few weeks before the start of next season with everything you need to know to pick your opening FPL fantasy teams for gameweek 1.

That being said, there is the small matter of Euro 2012 this summer.  Not wanting to miss out on the fun, Fantasy Football Cheat has set up a fantasy football league for Euro 2012 (thank you Red & Black for organising it).  Our chief tipster Kop Warrior has prepared a short article with all the details of how to enter the league, and we will be releasing that article on the site shortly.  Whilst we will not be providing player tips and advice on the Euro 2012 competition, we will be providing you with full use of our message boards throughout the tournament.

Our Final Tip…

Once again, thank you all for a great year.  However, we can’t leave you without one final tip.  So here it is…

Our final tip this year is quite simple.  Start getting excited for next season’s FPL, because together we are going to go on one almighty ride…

  2. Thanks for this season FFC… i’m proud to be on the WINNER’S WALL OF FAME and hope to be on it again next season… :-) planning already!

    GBP!

  3. FFC – I’d like to express my thanks to you and all the regular contributors on the site. I’ve had my best ever FPL season and I put that down to the assistance I’ve received on this site.

Now bring on the Euro’s….Come on you boys in green :)

    • Cheers Kop – it’s been great fun. Next year our aim has to be to get someone in the top 10 in the main FPL, and dare I say it…. maybe even back the winner…

  4. FFC: I would also like to express my thanks to you and all they guys on there that have written fantastic articles and also taken the time to give me advice on my team.

I too have had my best season (by far!) and it is no coincidence that this happened because of all the help I got on here.

To quote you “…what makes it absolutely fantastic is that it is done in such a fun and friendly manner.” I think that makes all the difference!

Next season – bring it on!!!

    Thanks guys!

    Claire

    • couldn’t agree more. We’ve got high hopes for you next year Mrs Wright. I hope you’re ready…

    • thanks claire for helping me out on that sarurday morning before doublegw,,ur help helped me amass 160 points in that week and eventually win manager of the month for april in whole FPL,,thanks very much

  5. Echoing the other’s comments, I’ll add my thanks to you FFC and everyone who contributes to the site. You’ve done a great job and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed having the banter on the message boards and getting some great advice from the regulars and those who have given up their time to write some brilliant articles throughout the year.

Looking forward to the Euro League, should be good fun.

Next season going to be a big one, August shall not come fast enough!

Congrats on the website’s continuing success FFC, have a good summer!

  6. I feel a “group hug” coming on!!!!

    • followed up with a group sing song to our favourite Adebayor theme tune…

  7. Yep, a big thank you to everyone who helped me through this year. If only i had listened to a few more of you and stuck Johnny Evans in, instead of being so stubborn.
Lesson learned and time to move on, already picking some of my players for next year – just a small matter of the Euro’s first. God help us we got Carrol up front!!!

  8. Cookie

How about ‘Heaven knows I miserable right now’ or ‘ Sally Cinnamon’???

  9. Okay so not wanting to be left out, my chance!

FFC i stumbled onto your site by accident, was madly desperate to find the bonus allocation but the fpl site was blocked on my client’s firewall, and i uncovered a real treasure. Unfortunately i was too stubborn to take any tips thinking i’m better than that and i can come up with my own ideas(i hate that bloody scout on fpl too, he’d always pick a player in my head so then everyone would know about him), but that ruined my team cuz i was ignoring the best players to get. It’s taken me a while to accept the site(my fault entirely) but once i did, these last few months have been an absolute treat, it’s been my solace everytime i needed a break from studying(that happens a lot).

So a big thanks to you and everybody who works so hard to make the site what it is, and special mentions to DB9(my first friend here), Kop, S&S, SZ, Cookie, Larry and last but not least Claire. It’s been an absolute delight talking to all of you’ll, hope to kick your arse next season! :)

    • Dhevesh – Best of luck with the final exam.

    • Cheers Dhevesh – great to have you here too, eventually!

Good luck for the exam. Get your timing right so you can attampt every question. Thats half the battle!

      • And make sure you read the question correctly!!

        • Haha thanks FFC Kop – luckily for me, my school’s induced a very good sense of time management, and i’ve been able to retain it, and haven’t struggled for time on a paper ever since. In fact i actually leave most of the examinations with 20-30 minutes to spare, my friends are absolutely scandalized, you should see the expression on their faces!

          • I bet they are! Best of luck. Not long now and you’ll be a free man :-)

          • Urgh, just got a really bad memory of my “O” Level History question “Describe Mao Tse Tung’s life before 1950? I wrote 17 pages on his life after 1950!!!!

            Lesson learned, READ THE QUESTION!!!

            Good luck!

          • Ha, just thinking. Dhevesh has his time management so well set up that he’s thinking “If I can leave this exam 20 mins earlier” that gives me 20 more minutes to talk about FFC!!!!!!! Good time management!

          • Thanks all, and claire 17 pages?? I write an average of 20 sides in all for a 100 mark exam!

          • Dhev: What can I say, I like to talk! Best bit was, we hadn’t learned about his life after 1950, I just b&llshitted for 17 pages.

          • Claire – That’s quite impressive!!

          • Claire – Haha we all know how much you love to talk :)

    • Aah Dhevesh, my wonderful assistant manger! You may not have listenened the first half of the season (and let’s face it, I’m not sure you listened the second half – Cisse, captain – anyone???) but you’re a real gent and a good guy.

Thanks for all the advice and support you have given me and many others this season.

I’m doing a “Dhevesh to pass his accoutancy exams” dance now!!

Good luck mate, look forward to the “Dream Team” doing the business next year!!!

      Claire

      • Claire – in my defence, cisse captain was a sacrifice for united to win the title, and it would have worked but for those horrible 3 minutes!

And thank you very much you’ve been very supportive all through.

Of course the dream team’s gonna kill it, i just hope the rest are prepared for what they’re gonna get!

    • @Dhevesh: cheers Dhevesh!!! lindegaard springs to my mind when i recalled our 1st convo.
